Tim has 21 years of experience representing healthcare providers in all sectors of the healthcare industry, both as an advisor and as a trial advocate.

Tim is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina (MHA '98) and The University of South Carolina School of Law (JD '99).  

He received a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Corporate Compliance from The George Washington University, located in Washington, DC and is certified in Healthcare Corporate Compliance by the Health Care Compliance Association.  

He has served as a Delegate of the LeadingAge National Legal Committee.

Over the years, Tim has gained a thorough and extensive understanding of all of the major US and global healthcare regulations impacting healthcare cybersecurity and information privacy, including HIPAA/HITECH, GDPR, CCPA, The Federal Stored Communications Act and more.

Recently, Tim has served as Deputy General Counsel for an international medical device manufacturer and electronic medical records developer, with commercial operations in more than 130 countries around the globe.  

Prior to his time as a Deputy General Counsel, Tim held various other executive level positions in the healthcare and medical technology sector, including Chief Compliance Officer, Global Compliance and Privacy Counsel, Lead Risk and Litigation Counsel as well as Data Protection Officer.

Tim leads the Zero Day Health Information Cybersecurity and Privacy Team.  He and the Team can provide the knowledge and experience your organization needs to build and manage an effective organizational Health Information Compliance Program as well as the maturity and skill necessary to lead it through a cybersecurity incident.
