Yale New Haven Health Data Breach Settlement Moves Forward With $18M Pact

CONNECTICUT — A proposed $18 million settlement tied to a Yale New Haven Health Services Corporation data breach affecting about 5.6 million people received preliminary court on Oct. 21.

The breach, discovered in March, exposed private information including names, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, email addresses, race or ethnicity, Social Security numbers, patient types and medical record numbers, according to the settlement website. Those eligible to participate include all U.S. residents who received a notice indicating their information may have been compromised.
