It is no secret that cybercriminals commonly target the healthcare sector due to the valuable, sensitive data these organizations collect and store. While 2025 recorded the greatest number of data breaches to date, current statistics show healthcare-specific breaches decreased by 4.3% year-over-year, according to data from the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office for Civil Rights (OCR).
