Healthcare overpayment law goes into effect

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCJB) - Starting Thursday, a state law went into effect that speeds up refunds for patients who are overcharged for healthcare.

Senate Bill 1808 requires healthcare providers to refund overcharged patients within 30 days.

Providers who miss the deadline could face fines or penalties.
